About This Site

Not everyone can afford to hire expensive guides and outfitters; some of us just want to do it ourselves. The purpose of this site will be a cooperative effort between Team DIYBowhunter.com and every other Do-It-Yourself Bowhunter, helping each other with fresh DIY articles and a forum where we can help each other hunt smarter, and get more information about an area without having to drive 500 miles.

Gadgets, gadgets and more gadgets! I love gadgets and things that make my life easier. I am constantly striving to find good products for me and my fellow bowhunters that will make life easier  in the long run. Time is valuable and I want to have more time to hunt and less time working on my gear. For years I have been fletching and re-fletching my own arrows with a single-arrow fletching jig. It has been time consuming, mediocre and sloppy.

When I first moved to California I had a very difficult time finding areas to hunt. I was also intimidated by the maps that you can buy at the local sporting goods stores. They cover a very large range and it's difficult to find specific locations to scout, let alone hunt. I am not sure how I found out about MapCard, but it has proven to be one of the best tools for my trip planning in the past year. It is limited to only the United States, so if you are traveling abroad you'll have to find different maps.
